Job Summary
The Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing large datasets, developing models, and applying advanced analytics to support business objectives. This role requires strong programming skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver data-driven solutions. The Data Scientist will work with modern technologies, including machine learning and AI, and contribute to the development of analytical software products while adhering to agile and DevOps practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with large volumes of raw data and apply statistical and computational techniques for analysis.
- Develop and implement data models, mining processes, and visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Apply machine learning techniques using languages such as R and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize user stories and deliver actionable insights.
- Contribute to the development of industrialized analytical software products.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in data science, AI, and distributed computing (e.g., Hive, Hadoop).
- Ensure adherence to agile development and DevOps practices.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across teams.
Job Requirements
- Proven training in computer engineering, computer science, econometrics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing architectures.
- Proficiency in R and/or Python for machine learning and AI applications.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and related software.
- Experience in data processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Familiarity with agile and DevOps environments.
- Exposure to software engineering principles and practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- High intellectual curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies and methods.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Work Experience
- Experience in data science, machine learning, and software development in an enterprise environment.
Additional Job Details
- Travel required: Less than 10%.
- Must be comfortable working independently and in virtual team environments.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: Up to $70.67 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
