Position Title: Database Administrator

Job Type: Full Time

Position Summary: DEVNET is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our organization's database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases, as well as overseeing database backups, recoveries, and upgrades. The DBA will work closely with the development team to optimize query performance and maintain efficient database operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

· Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries and database structures to ensure high availability and performance.

· Backup & Recovery: Design and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies. Ensure database systems can be restored quickly in the event of data loss.

· Security: Implement and maintain database security policies, manage user permissions, and monitor access to ensure data is protected from unauthorized use or breaches.

· Upgrades & Patching: Perform regular database updates, patching, and migrations to ensure systems remain up to date and secure.

· Capacity Planning: Monitor and manage database storage, including planning for future growth and system resource requirements.

· Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and processes.

· Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related projects and troubleshoot issues.

· Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

· Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, managing large-scale databases in a production environment. Use of Visual Studios and SSIS packages as a tool for data migration.

· Database Systems: In-depth knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.

· Performance Optimization: Strong understanding of database optimization, indexing, query tuning, and data modeling.

· Backup & Recovery: Expertise in implementing and managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

· Security: Proficiency in database security, encryption, and access control mechanisms.

· Scripting: Knowledge of database scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) and familiarity with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

Pay: $85,529.00 - $89,353.00 per year
