Job description

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage our multi-cloud infrastructure. You will act as the technical subject matter expert for both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, ensuring our cloud environments are scalable, secure, and highly available.

General Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain robust, scalable cloud infrastructure across both AWS and Azure environments.
  • Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Monitor cloud system performance, proactively troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and manage incident responses to ensure high availability.
  • Enforce security best practices, implement robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, and ensure compliance across both cloud platforms.
  • Optimize cloud spend by analyzing resource utilization, rightsizing infrastructure, and implementing cost-saving strategies (e.g., reserved instances, savings plans).
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate cloud-native services and support CI/CD pipeline deployments.
  • Design and execute comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Migrate existing on-premises applications, workloads, and data seamlessly into AWS and Azure architectures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud architecture, system configurations, and operational procedures.

Mandatory Skills/Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance in DISS
  • Deep, hands-on administrative and architectural experience with both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Advanced understanding of cloud networking (e.g., VPCs, VNETs, Transit Gateways, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, DNS, load balancing).

Other Skills

  • Proven experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS).
  • Familiarity with ITSM and data management platforms, specifically ServiceNow and Cohesity (highly preferred, but not required).
  • Active certifications in one or both platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and experience managing CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with cloud observability, monitoring, and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk).
  • Working knowledge of serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda) and cloud database services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $175,000.00 per year
