Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented System Administrator to manage and support the Dark Matter Technology Empower Loan Origination System (LOS) for our Home Loans department. This role will focus primarily on ensuring system stability through timely system updates, patches, and corrections, and will serve as a technical liaison between business users, IT, and third-party vendors.
Responsibilities:

Manage and implement system updates, version upgrades, and configuration changes in the Empower LOS environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Monitor the system for errors, performance issues, and other anomalies; diagnose and implement corrections to resolve functionality or data integrity issues.

Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements for system corrections or enhancements and translate them into technical configurations.

Coordinate with Dark Matter Technology (vendor) for release management, patch notes, and implementation of hotfixes.

Conduct thorough testing and validation of updates and corrections in lower environments prior to production deployment.

Maintain and document system configuration changes, issue resolutions, and update procedures according to compliance standards.

Develop and maintain automated scripts or routines to support system health and audit readiness.

Participate in system-related audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Provide second-level support for escalated LOS-related issues from the helpdesk or business teams.

Monitor and manage system performance metrics and escalate persistent issues to infrastructure or vendor support as needed.

System configuration management, patching, and version control

Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

Understanding of APIs, data mapping, and system integration points

Experience with role-based access control (RBAC) and user provisioning

Knowledge of internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness

Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Understanding of ITIL frameworks (incident, problem, and change management)

Technical liaison between business, IT, and third-party vendors

Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations

Excellent documentation and process improvement skills

Mentorship and training of junior team members or end users
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

5+ years of experience administering a Loan Origination System (Empower LOS experience required).

Proven experience with system upgrades, patch management, and configuration control in a mortgage lending environment.

Strong understanding of mortgage lending workflows, data flow, and compliance requirements.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues across integrated platforms.

Excellent documentation, communication, and project coordination skills.

Familiarity with SQL, PowerShell, or scripting languages is a plus.

Knowledge of API integrations, data mapping, and vendor liaison experience is a strong advantage.

Experience in Agile or DevOps environments.

Background in loan origination, compliance, or home loan servicing processes.

Experience with other mortgage technology platforms (e.g., Encompass, Optimal Blue, Blend) is beneficial but not required.

Target Base Pay:
$88,488 - $110,607/year
