Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems infrastructure. The successful candidate will handle advanced troubleshooting, system monitoring, support services, and proactive maintenance to support our clients' operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee verification of daily backups using tools such as Datto, Veeam, and Ninja Backup; perform basic triage on issues to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage daily server patching and reboots, with a focus on Windows environments; conduct initial triage of patching-related problems.
  • Monitor overnight alerts via platforms including NinjaOne, LogicMonitor, Auvik, Huntress, Eset, and UncommonX; triage incidents and escalate to on-call engineers as required.
  • Conduct comprehensive customer health checks, evaluating patch status, drive utilization, and server logs; cross-reference contracts with tools to confirm device accuracy and deploy missing components with appropriate approvals.
  • Perform inventory verification and cleanup to maintain consistency across tools and contracts; locate and resolve missing systems by deploying necessary software or tools.
  • Provide backup phone support, email support, and emergency assistance for issues like offline servers and Datto systems.
  • Handle Tier 3 tickets, ensuring timely resolution of complex technical challenges.
  • Set up and install backup and recovery systems, including onsite deployments.
  • Deliver system alert support and ongoing monitoring.
  • Install and troubleshoot line-of-business applications; perform advanced workstation and server troubleshooting, including Group Policy Objects (GPO), Exchange, and SQL.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Execute advanced firewall troubleshooting and virtualization setup with in-depth issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and utilize scripting/PowerShell for automation and efficiency.
  • Contribute to miscellaneous projects, such as auditing software/firmware versions, removing devices from tools, updating records, and other tasks assigned by supervisors.
  • Meet departmental performance standards, goals, and objectives to drive team success.

Knowledge, Education & Experience:

  • Associate's Degree in an Information Technology-related field, combined with 5+ years of relevant IT work experience.
  • Working knowledge of technology related to network components and peripherals.
  • Good understanding of advanced networking technologies.
  • Proven experience in IT operations or similar roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows server environments and patching procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or CompTIA Network+.
  • Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation.
  • Familiarity with backup systems including Datto, Veeam, and Ninja Backup.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools such as NinjaOne, LogicMonitor, Auvik, Huntress, Eset, and UncommonX.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Dynamic, fast-paced work setting supporting remote, hybrid, and work arrangements based on location and business needs.
  • Maintain professional standards and adhere to company dress code when on-site or engaging with clients.
  • Schedule: Includes rotating on-call responsibilities, covering nights, weekends, and holidays, consistent with a 24/7 NOC environment.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
