Job description

The Information Security Analyst I is a participant in activities pertaining to protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data related to Mountain Park patients and staff. This person carries out the IT organization's technical activities to implement, maintain and improve security infrastructure and operations, and to provide regular status and service-level reports to the Information Security Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • The Information Security Analyst I is responsible for a broad range of security tasks including participation in the information security program, which includes monitoring and maintaining security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the Information Security Manager and other members of the Information Security team, develop and apply business-appropriate information security strategy, solutions and documentation that address security risks while maintaining the culture and values of Mountain Park Health Center.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the technical aspects of security activities as assigned.
  • Monitor network traffic and analyze records like authentication logs and risk reporting to identify and investigate anomalies.
  • Monitor the company’s networks for any security breaches and/or anomalies and investigate and document findings and remediation actions.
  • Prepare reports and incident tickets notating security breaches, violations, anomalies, and investigations that document actions and the effect of these events.
  • Research the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
  • Prevent and detect security incidents through careful network monitoring and analysis and the application of Information Security concepts, controls, and policies.
  • Execute technological upgrades, improvements, and major changes to the information security environment as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of IT experience, with two years of experience implementing and evaluating information security concepts and controls as directed.
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Associate degree or advanced training and/or certification viewed favorably.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of all areas of information systems, including client/server, PC integration, and security concepts.
  • Experience following policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a structured IT service delivery organization with two years of experience working with server platforms, Active Directory, cloud infrastructure, log gathering and analysis tools, and implementing and evaluating information security concepts and controls as directed.
  • Certification or a documented study path for an approved certification (Azure, Security+ or CISSP/ACISSP or similar).
  • Candidate must be willing and able to achieve approved certification within 270 days or 9 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
  • Experience with information security concepts, protocols, and industry best practices and strategies.
  • Experience working with legal, audit and compliance staff.
  • Experience participating on project teams carrying out technical projects.
