Database & Systems Administrator

Position Summary
The Database & Systems Administrator plays a vital role in designing, implementing, and supporting robust database systems and enterprise applications. Utilizing expertise in SQL architecture, the role encompasses database development, integration, support, testing, and performance optimization within a multi-tiered RDBMS environment. Responsibilities also include overseeing backup/recovery, production staging, application rollout, capacity planning, and cross-functional user support.
Key Responsibilities
ERP System Analyst
- Maintain expert knowledge of INFOR Visual Enterprise (VE) and ALEXYS TEAM systems.
- Integrate existing applications into a VE-centric ecosystem.
- Audit security policies and practices for VISUAL & TEAM applications.
- Create and verify system backups for VE and TEAM platforms.
- Develop and support applications that integrate VE, Team, VCRM, and DS systems.
- Support and program the Master Product Configurator (MPC).
- Maintain legacy scheduling functionality integrated with VE.
- Define and enforce business rules based on management directives.
- Train users and recommend procedures and policy improvements to management.
- Analyze and improve system usability; provide actionable recommendations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot user/system-level errors.
- Monitor software license usage and compliance.
- Create extended and customized reporting using various tools.
- Conduct workflow research in preparation for business rule development.
- Perform ad-hoc operational data analysis as requested.
SQL Programming
- Manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL relational databases including schema extensions, integrity, and performance tuning.
- Design and implement stored procedures, triggers, views, and tables.
- Export summary data into the Corporate Performance Management system.
Database Administration (DBA)
- Create and maintain backup databases for testing and reporting environments.
- Monitor and plan for system capacity and storage needs.
- Implement and oversee data backup and recovery strategies.
- Ensure data security, consistency, and high availability.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems, especially INFOR Visual and
- MS SQL Server.
- Strong background in logical and physical data modeling and relational database design.
- Comprehensive understanding of relational theory and normalization.
- Experience developing stored procedures, triggers, views, and performance-optimized schemas.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VBA, macros).
- Familiarity with programming or scripting for application support is helpful.
- Proven experience integrating enterprise systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to define and enforce database naming conventions and programming standards.

Experience & Education
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Systems Analyst with SQL Server.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
