TSPi is actively seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to join our team and support our government client. Our Data Visualization Specialist helps define, design, analyze, validate, and build analytical models.



Responsibilities

  • Utilize familiarity with soil science (ecology, climate, soil, hydrology) to help develop a roadmap for our soil science analytics platform and help drive our customer's vision.
  • Develop geospatial visualization toolkits that provide application users with the ability to analyze and inspect their data.
  • Develop APIs using Python and Flask to enable interaction with statistical analysis tools, such as fuzzy logic systems and scikit-learn models.
  • Design and implement machine learning and data science workflows using Python and R.
  • Work with statistical models, evaluate their performance using appropriate metrics, and communicate results and insights to non-expert stakeholders.
  • Apply a variety of statistical modeling techniques, including parametric and non-parametric methods, and perform advanced analyses such as optimization, text analytics, and machine learning as needed to support project goals.
  • Stay up to date with external trends and new features in third-party and cloud solutions and identify opportunities to enhance business capabilities by sharing relevant advancements with the team.
  • Ensure application solutions meet quality standards for performance, reliability, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
  • Support the implementation of the technology roadmap by assisting with backlog prioritization, planning, and execution to address architectural challenges and uncertainties.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sizing, estimation, planning, and team collaboration activities.


Education and experience

  • 5+ years of technical work or other relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Technology/Science/Engineering or other relevant fields.
  • Hands-on experience with creating analytic workflows in Python and R.
  • Experience creating APIs using Flask or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) for developing, deploying, and managing applications.
  • Experience working with geospatial data using PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with experience gathering requirements.
  • Expertise in Agile development methodologies, test automation, test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
