iTrust Insights is a fast-growing behavioral health intelligence company that converts real, de-identified clinician and patient conversations into structured, research-quality datasets. We use AI, NLP, and real-world evidence to improve mental health care, support clinical decision-making, and partner with universities, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance organizations.
We are hiring a Data Architect / Data Scientist who can assist our Chief Technology Officer and Senior Cloud Architect to build and manage the core data systems of the company. This position will evolve into the Head of Data or Chief Data Officer as the company scales.

Position Summary
This role blends four major areas of responsibility:
Data Architecture
Design and improve databases, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and storage systems.
Data Science and AI Validation
Validate AI and NLP output, develop models, and ensure the dataset meets research-level accuracy.
Strategic Data Leadership
Create the long-term data strategy, governance structure, and internal standards for quality and compliance.
External Research Partnerships
Work with universities, healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical partners, insurers, and research groups to validate and standardize the dataset.
You should be confident operating hands-on with the technology and also comfortable leading conversations with researchers, healthcare partners, and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture and Engineering
- Design, optimize, and maintain data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based systems.
- Build ETL pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, and real-time data flows using Kafka, middleware, or APIs.
- Create standards for data governance, quality assurance, lineage, and HIPAA-compliant security.
- Develop master data management processes and metadata systems for large-scale healthcare datasets.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure alignment with company goals.
AI, NLP, and Data Validation
- Validate conversational AI and NLP outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Build evaluation frameworks that measure accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, reliability, and clinical relevance.
- Support predictive modeling, advanced analytics, and outcome-based research using machine learning and statistical tools.
- Strengthen data pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, Java, or similar technologies.
Strategic Data Leadership
- Create and maintain the company’s long-term data strategy and roadmap.
- Define quality, governance, and compliance standards across the organization.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies related to big data, cloud infrastructure, and analytics.
- Oversee future development of enterprise-level data warehouses, data lakes, and real-world evidence systems.
- Encourage a data-driven culture and support the growth of the technical team over time.
University, Pharma, and Payer Partnerships
- Build relationships with universities for collaborative research, validation studies, and IRB-supported projects.
- Partner with pharmaceutical companies on real-world evidence initiatives such as negative symptoms research and medication outcome analysis.
- Work with payers and insurance analytics teams on cost-of-care models, population health work, and outcomes research.
- Represent iTrust Insights in scientific, technical, and commercial discussions.
Education Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- At least three to five years in data architecture, database design, or data science.
- Experience in data modeling, warehousing, NoSQL systems, ETL pipelines, and streaming platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other big data tools.
- Hands-on work with AI or machine learning systems, especially NLP pipelines.
- Ability to communicate with senior leaders and collaborate across teams.
- Experience working with healthcare or regulated data is a strong advantage.
