Job description

Full-Time -Assistant PACS Administrator (IntelePACS, Compass, Mirth)

Location: Remote (U.S. preferred)
Company: VetMed Group
Type: Full Time
Industry: Teleradiology / Healthcare IT

About Us
We are a fast-growing teleradiology practice committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services nationwide. As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Full Time PACS Administrator to help support and optimize our imaging informatics infrastructure. This is your chance to play a vital role in a company that values innovation, agility, and reliability in healthcare delivery.

Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled, self-motivated, and technically curious PACS Administrator with hands-on experience—or strong foundational knowledge—in IntelePACS, Compass DICOM Router, Mirth HL7 interface engine, and desktop support. While having all three PACS tools plus desktop support experience is ideal, they’re not strictly required. If you have at least one of these skills and are eager to learn the others, we’d love to hear from you.

You'll play a key role in managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting our systems to ensure smooth and reliable imaging workflows between modalities, radiologists, and clinical sites—along with providing desktop support to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.

Whether you're an experienced health IT professional or newer to PACS, we welcome candidates who are eager to learn, grow, and become a valuable member of our informatics team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support IntelePACS, including configuration, troubleshooting, and user management
  • Manage and optimize Compass DICOM Router for efficient image routing and modality workflows
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Mirth HL7 interface engine and assist with system integrations (RIS, EMR, etc.)
  • Provide technical support to radiologists, technologists, and staff for PACS-related issues
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to reduce downtime
  • Collaborate with vendors, imaging sites, and internal IT teams
  • Document system changes, workflows, and procedures for internal use

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely
  • 2+ years of experience in PACS Administration or Healthcare IT

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with radiology workflows and teleradiology environments
  • CIIP certification or related training a plus
  • Basic to intermediate experience with IntelePACS, Compass, and/or Mirth HL7
  • Comfort working within healthcare imaging/informatics environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot DICOM and HL7-related issues

What We Offer

  • Flexible remote work (ideal for part-time professionals or side-contracting)
  • Opportunity to grow into a core IT/informatics leadership role
  • Exposure to innovative imaging tools and modern workflow systems

Collaborative, supportive culture that encourages innovation and growth
