Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud infrastructure and solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in cloud architecture, virtualization, and IT systems, capable of guiding complex projects across diverse cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in solution architecture, system design, and cloud development, contributing to the organization’s digital transformation initiatives and ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, VMware, Rackspace, Citrix, and others.
- Develop comprehensive cloud solutions utilizing IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models with a focus on service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into effective cloud infrastructure designs.
- Implement automation and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, PowerShell, Bash scripting to streamline deployment pipelines and infrastructure management.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as FedRAMP and implement best practices for security protocols including VPNs and RESTful APIs.
- Optimize existing systems by integrating virtualization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenStack; enhance system performance through microservices architecture and containerization.
- Provide technical leadership on cloud migration strategies for legacy systems to modern cloud environments while maintaining high availability and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system design processes and support continuous improvement through Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices.
- Stay current with emerging trends in cloud computing and IT innovations to recommend new tools or approaches that improve operational efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive experience with cloud architecture, cloud infrastructure, cloud development, and system design across multiple platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, Rackspace, Citrix.
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, API management, and web services such as RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies like VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, along with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
- Knowledge of security standards including FedRAMP, VPNs, encryption protocols; experience implementing secure cloud solutions.
- Skilled in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, with experience in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server; experience working with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or DynamoDB is a plus.
- Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git; strong understanding of SDLC processes.
- Ability to manage operating systems including Windows and Linux environments effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions for complex IT challenges; strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration. Pay: $97,697.00 - $117,656.60 per year
