The Manufacturing Data & Financial Analytics Engineer plays a critical role bridging industrial engineering, finance, and data analytics, translating manufacturing and financial data into actionable business insights that improve operational efficiency, cost control, and margin performance.

We are seeking a highly analytical professional with 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, analytics, or operations-focused roles. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in manufacturing operations, cost accounting, data analytics, and advanced Excel/BI tools, with working knowledge of databases and Python.

Essential Functions:

Manufacturing & Financial Analysis:

· Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to support accurate product costing and margin analysis.

· Prepare and maintain labor efficiency, productivity, and variance reports.

· Apply manufacturing cost accounting principles (standard costing, variances, WIP, absorption).

· Analyze inventory valuation, scrap, yield, and production variances.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial analysis.

· Partner with operations, engineering, and finance teams to improve performance visibility.

Data Analytics & Reporting:

· Build and maintain advanced Excel models using:

o Power Pivot

o Power Query

o Advanced formulas and data modeling

· Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI (or similar BI platforms).

· Automate data collection, cleansing, and reporting processes.

· Translate complex datasets into clear operational and executive-level insights.

Database & Systems Integration:

· Extract and validate data from ERP, MES, and manufacturing databases.

· Write and optimize database queries (SQL or similar).

· Reconcile operational and financial data across systems.

Python & Advanced Analytics:

· Use Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, basic scripting) for data analysis, reporting automation, and data transformation.

· Apply analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Industrial Engineering & Continuous Improvement:

· Apply industrial engineering principles to process analysis, capacity evaluation, labor optimization, and throughput improvement.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.

· Collaborate cross-functionally to drive measurable operational and financial improvements.

General Responsibilities:

· This role requires regular on-site presence at Identity Group’s Brunswick, Maine campus to support manufacturing operations, data validation, and cross-functional collaboration.

· Maintain confidentiality of company, client, and employee information.

· Communicate clearly and professionally through written and verbal channels.

· Comply with all Identity Group policies and procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field.

· 2–4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing analytics, industrial engineering, operations finance, or related roles.

· Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar).

· Understanding of manufacturing operations and cost structures.

· Working knowledge of manufacturing accounting and financial analysis.

· Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query, data modeling) and Power BI (or similar BI platforms).

· Experience working with databases and structured data.

· Working knowledge of Python programming for data analysis.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting.

· Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly required to sit, talk, see, and hear; occasionally required to walk and stand.

· Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, with frequent use of fingers for typing and handling materials.

· Frequently lift and move up to 10 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
