SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (Specializing in Ceph Storage)
We are looking for a versatile System Administrator with expertise in Ceph storage systems to join our team. This role combines general system administration responsibilities with a focus on maintaining and optimizing our Ceph cluster. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the stability and performance of our storage infrastructure while managing broader systems administration tasks.
Responsibilities:
Ceph Specific Tasks:
· Manage, monitor, and maintain the Ceph storage cluster to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
· Handle scaling, upgrades, and capacity planning for Ceph storage.
· Troubleshoot Ceph related issues and optimize cluster configuration.
· Integrate Ceph with other infrastructure components, such as XCPNG, Proxmox, or virtualization platforms.
· Implement disaster recovery, replication, and backup strategies for Ceph data.
General System Administration Specific Tasks:
· Manage Linux based servers and infrastructure, including updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
· Configure and manage system services, storage, and virtualization platforms.
· Automate routine tasks using scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar).
· Oversee server and network performance monitoring tools to ensure uptime and reliability.
· Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to ensure smooth integration of storage systems.

Monday through Friday
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Requirements:
· Solid experience as a System Administrator in a Linux/Unix environment.
· Expertise in managing Ceph storage clusters in production.
· Proficiency with storage protocols like RBD, iSCSI, S3, and NFS.
· Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting Ceph using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
· Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
· Knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs and bonding.
· Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., KVM, Xen) or container platforms like Docker/Kubernetes.
