Home Staging Designer

Seattle Staged To Sell & Design

Full-time

Seattle, WA

Job description

About Us

At Seattle Staged to Sell, we create fully custom staging designs that highlight each home’s unique potential. Rather than relying on a single aesthetic, our team draws from a wide and curated range of design styles including modern, transitional, midcentury, eclectic, etc., to craft spaces that feel both beautiful and intentional. We’re known for strategic, lifestyle-driven staging with thoughtful details that help listings stand out and connect with buyers.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, creative interior styling position with real ownership. We’re looking for an experienced interior stylist or designer who’s ready to jump in and start contributing quickly. You’ll begin by assisting our senior designers to get familiar with our systems, styling methods, and expectations. Once trained, you’ll transition into leading your own staging projects—from initial walkthrough to design concept and full execution.

We’re seeking someone who can confidently manage multiple staging projects each week from start to finish, but who’s also open to learning and working collaboratively. Strong organization & communication skills are key, as you’ll work closely with agents, homeowners, and team members throughout the process.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no day is the exact same, enjoys creative problem-solving, and brings a high level of innovation & initiative to their work. Being a home staging designer, you’ll have the unique opportunity to apply your own design discretion with real creative autonomy in your staging projects using our large & diverse inventory.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and execution of your assigned staging projects across a wide range of home styles and price points
  • Developing design concepts based on each home’s layout, style, and target buyer using our inventory, systems, and design standards that reflect the SSTS Brand
  • Apply strong aesthetic judgment while balancing creative layout plans to maximize flow & function, and targets the target buyer’s dream lifestyle
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with our clients and your teammates
  • Executing your vision on stage day with help from our crew and junior designers
  • Think proactively to solve any challenges on-site or during the design process and ensure each project meets our quality standards
  • Conduct home walkthroughs with clients, writing & pricing detailed staging proposals
  • Supporting and mentoring junior designers as needed
  • We have a dedicated interior design department. If you have previous interior design experience and skills, there are opportunities to split your time between staging and interior design projects.
  • Take videos of your staging designs & installation days to be used for marketing purposes.

What we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years prior experience in interior styling, visual merchandizing, interior design, or home staging (required). This is not an entry level interior styling/design position. Note: This is a hands-on interior & design / styling position for home staging. Candidates with backgrounds in graphic design, web design, UX/UI, or other digital design fields will not be considered unless they also have relevant hands-on experience in interior styling, staging, or spatial/interior design.
  • Interior Design degree & technical skills such as CAD are a plus
  • Strong visual instincts paired with practical decision-making
  • Confidence working both independently managing your own projects and collaboratively with your team
  • A proactive mindset: You take initiative to solve problems as they arise and actively look for opportunities to improve our systems and processes over time.
  • Solid communication skills and a positive, can-do & team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to stay organized and follow through, even with multiple projects in motion

Why Join Us

  • Collaborative and supportive team environment: Our motto is “Together we can.” We believe great work happens through teamwork, and we support each other every step of the way to get the job done.
  • Creative Autonomy: With every staging project, you’ll have the opportunity to bring your vision to life using your own designer discretion. You’ll work across a wide range of properties and design styles & make a real impact on how homes show and sell in the Seattle market.
  • A Balanced Role: This isn’t a job where you’re stuck behind a desk all day. You’ll get the satisfaction of seeing your design visions come to life on-site on a daily basis, with a healthy mix of planning, collaboration, client appointments, and hands-on styling. If you’re a creative that thrives on variety and tangible results, this role was made for you.
  • No One-Style-Fits-All Generic Designs: We don’t believe in one-style-fits-all staging. You’ll work with our large, diverse inventory to create thoughtful, strategic designs that reflect each home’s character and speak to target buyers while honing your creative instincts and individual flair.
  • Room to Grow: For the right person, this role can evolve to include more responsibility whether it’s mentoring junior designers, photography & content creation, or contributing to interior design projects, depending on your background and interests. We believe in investing in our loyal team.
  • Established Reputation & Exciting Projects: With 20+ years in business, multiple design awards, and over 300 five-star reviews, you have the opportunity to work for one of the most trusted and well-respected staging and design firms in the Pacific Northwest region.
