We're seeking a high-energy, client-focused cloud expert who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and is ready to take the next step in their career by leading our AWS cloud practice for a growing organization.

The Role: Client-Focused AWS Cloud Practice Leadership

This team leader-level position is heavily focused on client relationship management and direct engagement around AWS cloud transformation initiatives. You'll be the face of our AWS cloud practice, working directly with government executives and stakeholders while leading our consulting teams to exceptional cloud outcomes. This role requires someone energized by working with clients who can juggle multiple high-level client relationships while driving operational excellence in AWS cloud delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Excellence (Primary Focus)

  • Direct Client Engagement: Serve as primary relationship owner for our most strategic government clients pursuing AWS cloud transformation, maintaining C-level and executive relationships
  • Stakeholder Management: Navigate complex government stakeholder environments, building trust and driving consensus across multiple agencies on cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  • Client Success: Ensure every AWS engagement exceeds expectations, turning clients into long-term cloud transformation partners and references
  • Conference participation and presentations: Provide thought leadership and present best practices on AWS cloud adoption, migration strategies, and lessons learned in government environments

Pre-Sales & Business Development Leadership

  • Proposal Leadership: Lead proposal strategy and development for AWS cloud initiatives, leveraging deep cloud consulting expertise to win competitive government contracts
  • Client Presentations: Deliver compelling AWS cloud transformation presentations to government executives and selection committees
  • Thought Leadership: Position the firm as the go-to partner for complex government AWS cloud initiatives and modernization projects

AWS Cloud Practice Management

  • Project Oversight: Ensure flawless execution across all AWS client engagements, maintaining our reputation for cloud excellence
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a growing team of AWS cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and specialized cloud consultants
  • Quality Assurance: Establish AWS cloud delivery standards & processes that consistently exceed government client expectations
  • Contract Management: Successfully negotiate AWS-focused contracts with clients, sub-contractors, and AWS partners

Strategic Growth Driver

  • AWS Partnership Development: Identify and develop strategic AWS delivery partnerships to expand our cloud capabilities
  • Vendor Community Relations: Develop and maintain relationships within the government IT vendor community and AWS partner ecosystem, negotiating and facilitating teaming arrangements on cloud opportunities
  • Service Evolution: Drive development of new AWS cloud service offerings based on market needs and client feedback
  • Financial Performance: Optimize AWS project profitability while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background

  • 8-15 years in IT consulting and/or cloud services with substantial public sector focus in California
  • Proven track record managing complex government AWS cloud projects and relationships
  • Deep technical expertise in AWS cloud services, architecture, and migration strategies
  • Hands-on AWS consulting expertise in cloud assessment, solution design, and stakeholder management
  • Current AWS certifications strongly preferred (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Professional, or Security Specialty)
  • Knowledge of Multi-Cloud projects, strategies and architectures preferred

AWS Technical Expertise

  • Cloud Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure AWS solutions for government workloads
  • Migration & Modernization: Lead complex application and data migrations to AWS cloud platforms
  • Security & Compliance: Deep understanding of AWS security services and government compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.)
  • DevOps & Automation: Experience with AWS DevOps services, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Data & Analytics: Knowledge of AWS data services for government analytics and AI/ML initiatives

Government Cloud Consulting Expertise

  • Deep understanding of government cloud procurement processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments with competing cloud adoption priorities
  • Knowledge of government IT challenges, cloud modernization initiatives, and digital transformation
  • Understanding of AWS GovCloud and government-specific cloud security requirements

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Location: Sacramento, CA area - relocation required if not local
  • Not a remote position: Regular onsite presence required at both our office and client locations throughout Northern California
  • Comfortable and responsive work style that aligns with client demand and time-critical cloud business cycles
  • Travel: Regular travel to client sites throughout the Sacramento region and California

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
