Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Cook's Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with experience in fine dining or catering environments. As a Cook's Helper, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of our students and staff while ensuring exceptional food service standards.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
• Ensure all food safety and handling procedures are strictly followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute meal preparation for special events or catering services.
• Assist in menu development, including dietary considerations, to accommodate various guest preferences and restrictions.
• Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure stock levels are adequate.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to uphold hygiene standards.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure it meets the highest culinary standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a in a dining or catering environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare diverse cuisines.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A passion for cooking and a commitment to providing outstanding food service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
