Job description
Since 1994, A2B Tracking has pioneered military-grade solutions for tracking and managing critical assets and inventory for government agencies and commercial businesses. We help our clients take control of their assets and record keeping by providing them with A2B Tracking’s secure, cloud-based Asset Management software platform to achieve 99% inventory accuracy or better while performing inventories at a rate of 30x faster using mobile and fixed RFID.
A2B Tracking offers a range of services including software implementation, consulting, custom labels, plates and other operational support. We’ve been serving the property management needs of defense agencies, government contractors, universities and commercial organizations since 1994.
Position Summary:
Due to growth, we are seeking a Systems Engineer to report directly to our CTO. This position is hybrid and expected to be in the Fall River office two days per week, and as needed for meetings. This is a team-oriented environment and training is provided on our product and our sales processes. This person will work independently and as a team member under the CTO and in collaboration with the Engineering, Support, Professional Services and Sales teams. The Systems Engineer will be influential in various aspects of A2B Tracking’s business, including but not limited to:
- Sales Engineering
- Customer Implementations including RFID Deployments, Software System Integrations, and Business Process Analysis
- Operation and maintenance of internal systems and related infrastructure
- AWS Cloud Hosting Environment
- Research & Development of new products and solutions
The Systems Engineer will assist with best practices and emerging, innovative technical solutions for A2B’s growing organization. This person will perform a complex range of technical work activities to meet business and customer requirements while also contributing to the design and implementation of these solutions. This role will also assist with implementing and monitoring compliance with established security and integrity plans as outlined by A2B management. The System Engineer will also provide on-going analysis and planning of all systems, recommend changes, upgrades, and new projects to facilitate meeting A2B’s needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Sales Engineering expertise to the Sales team as directed
- Work with customers during system implementations to deploy A2B products successfully
- Maintain and execute standard system administration practices
- Plan, deploy and manage IT systems, Web Servers, Active Directory and AWS environments
- Develop and maintain system documentation
- Research and resolve performance issues in distributed systems working with AWS Engineer
- Monitor computing resource utilization, track trends, and project future needs with AWS Engineer
- Advance the state of systems per A2B standards and goals
- Help direct the actions and monitor the performance of third-party support vendors
Education/Skills/Experience
- At least 10 years of experience implementing technical solutions working directly with customers
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related
- Practical API application and implementation experience
- Hands on experience with SFTP and file management
- Ability to lead and drive complex implementations from beginning to end including system integrations
- Experience working in Citrix environments
- Experience with RFID technology or warehouse inventory management is a major plus
- Ability to learn new concepts, systems and technologies as needed including RFID
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical associates

- Self-directed and a fast learner with a track record of innovative problem solving
- Ability to independently research and develop creative solutions for internal needs and product needs alike
- Ability to take on specific training as needed to support new initiatives
- Ability to travel up to 10% nationally as needed to support customer needs including system installs and presale activities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
