Job description
The Senior Full Stack Developer (Shopify) position combines strong development skills with a knowledge of eCommerce performance – contributing to the architecture, development and SEO optimization of our online experience. This role is responsible for both back end and front-end development on Shopify, ensuring high-performance of the website to drive revenue and customer loyalty. You will work directly with our team to lead site performance improvements and end-to-end features development with precision. In addition, you will be responsible for day-to-day website review for implementing website updates, technical SEO application, and timely website fixes. Candidates must have in-house eCommerce experience, preferably with DTC Fashion or Beauty company.
***While this role is mostly REMOTE, candidates MUST live in California and MUST have the ability to come onsite (Los Angeles) 1-2x per month for meetings. Travel paid by employer****

Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize the website for speed, performance, and SEO integrity.
- Scope new functionality requests and implement site build out, new page templates, and A/B testing initiatives.
- Design front-end website architecture and implement user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX).
- Work closely with Graphic Designer to ensure website applications collaborate well with their design elements.
- Integrate and manage third-party Shopify apps.
- Oversee testing for design accuracy and functionality and providing feedback to management during the development process.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness and consistency across devices and browsers.
- Conduct daily website audit and debug theme and technical issues timely.
- Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) and follow SEO & accessibility standards.
- Conduct regular site audits to identify and resolve crawl errors, 404s, and indexation issues.
- Implement structured data (schema markup), canonical tags, and internal link optimization.
- Manage redirects, site maps, and robots.txt files to optimize crawl efficiency.
- Collaborate with content team to align technical updates with ongoing campaigns.
- Configure and maintain Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Search Console, Merchant Center and Tag Manager tracking.
- Evaluate the needs of users and analyze any technical issues to generate reports and technical recommendations.
- Collaborate with teams to identify friction points in the purchasing process and implement improvements that boost conversion and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must have proven developer expertise of Shopify and DTC ecommerce, preferably fashion or beauty.
- Deep knowledge of front end technologies (HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript, React or similar frameworks) and back end development (Node.js, Java or equivalent).
- Familiarity with JSON, AJAX, and jQuery
- Strong understand of Shopify Liquid, theme structure and Shopify Admin.
- Familiarity with Shopify API and platform knowledge.
- Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
- Strong understanding of Shopify SEO, URL structures, and metadata management.
- Proven success improving site speed and Core Web Vitals.
- Strong sense of user experience (UX) and visual hierarchy.
- Basic design knowledge of UI/UX and prototype design on Figma.
- Comfortable with Shopify analytics, reports, and Google integrations.
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO), SEO monitoring tools and accessibility standards.
- Experience with Klaviyo and Hubspot integration, a plus.
Additional Qualifications
- Location: must live in California and attend 1-2 monthly meetings onsite in Los Angeles (paid travel)
- Must address technical issues timely (ie. urgent issues within 24 hours).
- Ability to produce high quality of work with a strong focus on detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to clearly discuss ideas, technical concepts, and feedback.
- Strong problem-solving skills to translate client requirements into technical implementations.
