Job Overview
The primary focus of the IT Systems Administrator is to ensure that employees can use software and hardware to complete daily tasks. Common tasks will include network maintenance, desktop maintenance, password resets, phone support, troubleshooting, software/hardware installations and updates. This position also requires experience with Windows Server suite, VMware and networking. The ideal candidate will be familiar with current trends and recent technologies introduced to the market. This position will primarily assist employees at the pharmacy located in Des Plaines, Illinois; however, there will be some travel required to our other Pharmacies in Indiana and Missouri.

Responsibilities

Resolve IT support requests from employees at all pharmacy locations

  • Answer employee questions regarding computer systems and possible IT solutions
  • Gather and analyze data to diagnose problems with computer systems and equipment
  • Change configurations, settings, and permissions
  • Assist employees with locked accounts & password resets
  • Install new software and hardware; update existing drivers as needed
  • Communicate directly with employees to provide status updates on support requests (IT Tickets)
  • Log all support requests and update IT tickets as needed
  • Continually evaluate areas that need attention; focus on workflow enhancements/efficiency
  • Participate in management meetings
  • Assist with new facility start-up projects
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and in-house policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as needed
  • System Administration: Install, configure, manage, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Server 2016, 2022) in both physical and VMWare virtual environments
  • Active Directory Management: Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP to manage user accounts, permissions, and other network resources
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, health, and security using various tools. Perform routine tasks such as system backups, recovery, and regular patching and updates
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for Windows servers, network issues, and end-user problems
  • Hardware and Software Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with server hardware and enterprise software applications
  • Security: Assist with implementing and maintaining network and system security, including patching and access controls
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Automation: Use scripting languages, such as PowerShell, to automate routine administrative tasks
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other IT staff and business teams to resolve issues and implement new technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a Windows system administrator or comparable role
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture, Microsoft desktop/server technology and VMWare
  • Experience with installing and supporting Windows Server 2016+ and Windows 10\11
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with PowerShell for system administration
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 Applications
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (must pass MVR)
  • Reliable transportation with current auto insurance
  • On-Call and weekend support will be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
