We’re searching for a skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in APIs, SQL Server management, and application integration to join our growing organization.
Job Summary
As a SQL DBA at KDL, you will be at the core of our operations, ensuring our database systems are optimized, secure, and scalable. You’ll also work closely with application teams to design and implement API integrations and support our data-driven applications.
Job Duties
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Lead efforts in database tuning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with application teams to integrate databases with various business applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
- Monitor database performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database architecture and processes
- Some design and implementation of APIs for seamless communication between systems.
- Some application development and support
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA with knowledge of application and API development.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and optimizing databases.
- Strong experience in writing and debugging complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Expertise in implementing backup strategies and performing database restores.
- Knowledge of roles, permissions, encryption, and implementing SQL Server security best practices.
- Experience with query optimization, index maintenance, execution plans, and troubleshooting bottlenecks.
- Proficiency in database schema design, normalization, and partitioning.
- Experience with SQL Server clustering, replication, log shipping, and Always On Availability Groups.
- Ability to create, deploy, and troubleshoot ETL packages for data imports/exports. (SSIS: SQL Server Integration Services)
- Ability to build and deploy reports as needed. (SSRS: SQL Server Reporting Services)
- Proficient in developing, testing, and deploying C# applications using .NET/.NET Core.
