Role Overview: The Website Developer plays a critical role in bringing CGN websites to life through design and technical execution. This position requires at least two years of full-stack WordPress development experience and a minimum of two years of hands-on design experience. You should have a proven ability to create and conversion-driven websites that align with client brands and CGN’s design and development standards.
This role goes beyond routine updates; it’s about owning the entire process from concept to launch, ensuring every site is visually polished, user-friendly, and built for performance. You’ll collaborate closely with copywriters, SEO specialists, and account managers to deliver websites that not only look exceptional but also drive measurable business results.
Core Responsibilities:
Website Development & Execution:
- Own the end-to-end development of WordPress websites.
- Implement responsive, mobile-optimized layouts that meet modern UX/UI standards.
- Manage staging and production environments through platforms like WP Engine.
- Ensure high site performance scores and resolve technical issues proactively.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins when needed.
- Maintain consistent adherence to internal development standards and workflows.
Ongoing Site Management & Support:
- Handle incoming website-related support tickets, updates, and feature requests in Monday.com.
- Perform quality assurance testing, identify bugs, and execute fixes promptly.
- Maintain SEO integrity during content or structural changes.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with internal team members to align on project goals, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Communicate clearly through Slack and Monday.com on task progress, blockers, and technical dependencies.
- Participate in internal meetings to provide insight into development improvements or efficiencies.
- Collaborate with the SEO Specialist to maintain SEO integrity and best practices during content or structural changes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend solutions for optimizing page speed, accessibility, and scalability.
- Research and implement new WordPress tools, plugins, or development practices that improve client outcomes.
- Contribute to system documentation and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Research and apply UX/UI and conversion optimization best practices and trends.
Key Metrics for Success:
- Results: Design, develop, and launch websites that look great, perform exceptionally well, and help clients attract and convert their ideal customers.
- Activities: Meet production deadlines and complete QA fixes within set expectations.
