Job description

We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer to contribute to client facing system architecture and software development initiatives. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technical Engineer who can quickly implement updates, upgrades, and fixes while ensuring our platforms remain secure, scalable, and efficient.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end solution design, system performance optimization, and hands-on development, ensuring the continuous evolution of our technology stack.

Although this position is mostly remote, applicants must be located in or within commuting distance of Greenville, SC. Locations such as Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC are acceptable. Occasional onsite meetings in Greenville, SC will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure healthcare IT solutions.
  • Ensure enterprise platforms are high-performing, reliable, and can scale as needed.
  • Design and implement APIs and integrations for seamless data exchange with EHRs, healthcare platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Implement programming best practices in a HIPAA-compliant architecture using data encryption and modern cybersecurity measures.
  • Work closely with the engineering team lead and other software Engineers to scope and execute the technology roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4-5+ years of experience in enterprise software development, system design, and architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record working in software teams leveraging GitFlow workflows with multiple developers.
  • Expertise in cloud computing.
  • Designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL processes
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehousing solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts such as star/snowflake schema, data modeling, and OLAP/OLTP.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages - as least 3 of the following: C#, Python, PHP (Laravel), or JavaScript (Node.js/React.js/Express.js/Fasify).
  • Strong experience with database design (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data engineering best practices.
  • Deep understanding of API development, healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7), and EHR/EMR system integrations.
  • Working within modern DevOps strategies such as CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance in healthcare IT.
  • Ability to work remotely with a dedicated work space and reliable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EMR applications in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with Microservice platforms such as Azure Kubernetes or Azure functions.
  • Experience working with a diverse and cross-functional Engineering team.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

The annual salary for this position starts at $90,000 and is based on experience. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
