Systems Engineer (Managed IT Services)

The Role

As a Systems Engineer within Professional Services, you will execute and support full lifecycle infrastructure projects across servers, networking, and the Microsoft cloud stack. Your work will include building and migrating Windows Server environments, supporting Azure AD Entra and Microsoft 365 deployments, assisting with tenant migrations, configuring Intune, and participating in network and firewall deployments. You will work directly with clients, communicate progress clearly, and document your work thoroughly to ensure clean handoff to downstream support teams. A core expectation of this role is sound judgment — knowing when to validate assumptions, ask questions, or escalate rather than pushing forward with incomplete or unclear information.

This role offers meaningful exposure and growth for an engineer who wants to deepen their impact. You will work alongside senior engineers on complex server and cloud projects, steadily increasing ownership as your experience grows. Over time, you will build strong capability across Microsoft infrastructure, cloud migrations, and client-facing project delivery, positioning yourself as a trusted engineer within a maturing Professional Services organization and setting a clear path toward senior-level responsibility.

What You’ll Do

• Execute infrastructure projects including server builds, migrations, and client onboarding
• Build, configure, and migrate Windows Server environments, including domain controllers and file servers
• Support Microsoft cloud deployments and migrations across Azure AD Entra, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune
• Assist with tenant-to-tenant migrations and cloud modernization efforts
• Configure and deploy networking solutions including firewalls, VPNs, switching, and access points (with guidance as needed)
• Communicate project updates and technical information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
• Document all work thoroughly to ensure clean handoff to the Service Desk
• Identify unclear requirements, gaps in documentation, or potential risks and escalate appropriately
• Follow established standards while contributing feedback to improve processes and documentation

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience
• Systems Engineer or Project Engineer with experience in an MSP or equivalent multi-environment infrastructure setting
• Comfortable executing defined project scopes independently, with the ability to seek guidance for complex or high-impact decisions
• Solid foundation in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, domain controllers, and file services
• Working knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure AD Entra, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals including firewalls, VPNs, switching, and access points
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when working directly with clients
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits to ensure clean handoff to support teams
• Demonstrates good judgment by validating assumptions, asking questions, and escalating when something is unclear
• Motivated to grow technically and take on increasing responsibility within a Professional Services environment

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
