About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Credit Strategy Data Scientist to join our Credit Risk Strategy team. In this role, you will design, analyze, and optimize data-driven credit risk strategies that balance growth and loss control across a digital payments environment. You will collaborate with product, risk, and engineering teams to develop insights and predictive models that directly impact business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and refine data-driven credit risk strategies to detect and mitigate potential losses.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify loss patterns and emerging trends in customer behavior.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance risk control systems and improve decision automation.
- Create dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau) to monitor KPIs and communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Lead analytics projects from hypothesis development to execution, presenting clear, actionable outcomes.
- Support the design and implementation of predictive algorithms that drive customer eligibility and credit outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Mining, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk analytics, data science, or data analysis within the fintech or online payments industry.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and core data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Experience with large datasets and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Ability to communicate analytical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with AWS or other cloud data environments.
- Familiarity with credit products, payment rule systems, or loss mitigation modeling.
- Proven ability to translate complex data insights into strategic business decisions.
Expected Outcomes (6–12 Months)
- Develop interactive dashboards and KPIs to monitor credit strategies and loss performance.
- Deliver actionable insights that optimize credit risk management and customer experience.
- Collaborate effectively across teams to design and implement scalable, data-informed strategies.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
