Job description

Job Summary

Designs and implements analytical methodologies for a multi-modal transit agency to optimize operations, enhance passenger experience, and support data-driven decisions. Leads efforts to improve data quality and workflows, collaborating with the Data Strategy team on modeling, governance, and complex systems focused on UTA’s ridership. Mentors team members, partners with departments to address data needs, and effectively communicates insights to leadership. Compiles report submissions as part of UTA’s certification processes. Supports the implementation and integration of UTA’s hardware and software associated with ridership. An emphasis on data engineering will occur from time to time to support UTA’s data journey.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related/relevant field. Master’s degree in a business or data related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling, preferably in the transit, transportation, or logistics domain. Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.
  • Master Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field can be used in place of experience.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and experience with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership and mentorship.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

ABILITY

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive results in a demanding environment.

Required to perform technical work, individually or as a project team member.
Occasionally, after hours and/or weekend work required.
This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Rate: Starting around $90,900 annually commensurate with experience
