AMS Technologies is seeking to fill a DevOps/DevSecOps Software Engineer (III) to support our DANS team in San Antonio, TX. The Software Engineer III will provide software development/engineering support for one or more software development teams. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsibilities
· Designs, develops, integrates, and maintains robust software applications using Python and other relevant technologies, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
· Writes clean, scalable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
· Collaborates with operational community to capture future requirements.
· Implements and manages DevSecOps practices across the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is integrated into all phases of development and deployment.
· Builds, maintains, and optimizes CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process, ensuring rapid and reliable deployment.
· Integrates tools and processes for continuous testing, integration, and deployment.
· Participate in multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software for host based and network sensors and data analysis platforms.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
· Collaborates with product owners, scrum masters, and other team members to deliver high-quality software in an iterative and incremental manner.
· Collaborates with system operators, system maintainers, engineers, application developers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to mature requirements.
· Works as part of a cross-functional team that follows Scrum Agile practices.
· Mentors junior developers and engineers
· Develops and integrates software components into the system.
· Develops new capabilities for the system.
· Full-stack software architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance
· Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines and infrastructure using VMware.
· Use Jira for project management, issue tracking, and Agile workflow management.
Document software architecture, design, and processes in Confluence to ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Active Top Secret Clearance w/Ability to obtain TS/SCI
· Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or associate degree and 8 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Architecture, and design.
· Experience with software architecture, engineering, and design.
· Experience with microservices architecture.
· Experience with one or more Scripting/Programming Languages (ex: Python 3, Bash PowerShell, JavaScript, VBScript)
· Experience with Kubernetes
· CKA/CKAD Certification Highly preferred
· Experience with one or more front end languages such as:
· Angular
· TypeScript
· Experience working under Agile and/or DevSecOps (DevOps is also acceptable)
· Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and GitLab or similar DevOps/DevSecOps tools
· Familiarization with Bitbucket, SonarQube, ACAS, OSCAP, Nexus, Bro/Zeek, Suricata, and Moloch/Arkime.
Desired
· Experience with RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 operating systems, including Red Hat Satellite Server management.
· Experience with Windows server 2019 and Windows server 2022.
· Experience with RHEL and Windows STIGs and security remediations.
· Experience with one or more Virtualization (ex: ESXi, KVM, XEN) solutions.
· Familiarization with Software Engineering best practices and design principles
· Familiarization with software coding standards (PEP8, etc.)
· Familiarization with Air Force Defensive Cyberspace systems and programs
· Familiarization with Bitbucket, SonarQube, ACAS, OSCAP, Nexus, Bro/Zeek, Suricata, and Moloch/Arkime
· Experience with Test-Driven Development
· Experience writing unit tests with
· Working Knowledge of Elasticsearch and the ELK stack
· Working Knowledge Networking (TCP/IP)
· Experience in building software within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and with using Ansible.
· Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
· Experience using GIT, GitLab
· Experience with GitLab Pipelines
· Certified Kubernetes Application Designer (CKAD)
· Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
