Must-Have Highlights
- Expertise in DB2 z/OS and DB2 LUW – end-to-end lifecycle administration
- Experience leading DB2 projects across hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server and Snowflake (preferred)
- Strong background in performance tuning, database backup/recovery, and storage optimization
- Hands-on experience with Data Governance, incident management, and change control
- Operating systems: z/OS (Mainframe), Linux/Unix, Windows
- Toolsets: BMC Mainview, JCL, SPF Editor, SQL tools, scripting, and automation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work across cross-functional IT teams
Position Overview
The Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer provides enterprise-level engineering services and operational support across diverse database platforms. The role is responsible for building, deploying, documenting, and maintaining secure, optimized, and highly recoverable Database Management Systems across multiple environments (on-premise and cloud).
Core Responsibilities
- Full lifecycle administration and project leadership for DB2 z/OS and DB2 LUW
- Secondary support for SQL Server and Snowflake environments
- Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and maintain Database Management Systems
- Design and implement resilient database backup and recovery strategies
- Monitor and optimize database performance and physical data storage
- Enforce data governance policies including security audits and access control
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and change management tasks
- Analyze new DBMS solutions through vendor engagement, research, and POCs
- Collaborate with development teams on coding standards and performance tuning
- Maintain and publish documentation for solutions, standards, and service catalogs
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing
- Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in DB2 z/OS and DB2 LUW administration
- Familiarity with SQL Server (on-prem & Azure) and Snowflake is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and resolve database issues
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Comfortable presenting solutions in business-friendly language
- High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong ownership

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10+ years of experience in Database Administration or Infrastructure Engineering roles
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
