Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Opportunity:
A growing healthcare organization in the Portland metro area is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thrives on designing, implementing, and managing enterprise infrastructure while mentoring the next generation of IT professionals.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and manage advanced network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security
- Oversee server and datacenter operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Lead on-premise to Azure cloud migration projects for critical business applications
- Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures aligned with ITIL best practices
- Ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic business objectives
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Responsible for the hygiene of the company infrastructure
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering or similar role
- Demonstrated ability to design and architect IT solutions and lead technical projects
Technical Skills:
- Advanced networking: routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Extensive server and datacenter management experience
- Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies including:
- Windows Server and Active Directory administration
- Azure cloud services
- Virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
- SQL Server
- Enterprise systems management (SCCM, SCOM)
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with on-premise to Azure cloud migrations
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- PowerShell scripting and automation
Core Competencies:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with effective prioritization
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Healthcare IT or HIPAA-regulated environment experience

Work Environment:
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Portland metro area. Standard office environment with occasional work in server room/datacenter required.
