Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support the sustainment and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure across development and production environments. This entry-level role focuses on system maintenance, patching, and cloud support while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically curious, and ready to grow in a secure, mission-critical environment.

Duties

  • Assist in maintaining and supporting operating systems and infrastructure across development and production environments.
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks including backups, patching, and software updates.
  • Support cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure operations, including OCI and AWS environments.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and engineering teams to support secure and scalable system operations.
  • Participate in Agile workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in systems administration or enterprise IT support.
  • IAT/IAM Level I certification (e.g., A+, Network+, or equivalent).
  • Foundational experience maintaining Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with system backup, recovery, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Azure.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures for system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Cloud Experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Nice To Have

  • Experience supporting secure federal or defense-related IT environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Oracle VM) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
  • Understanding of STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
  • Exposure to scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation and system tasks.
  • Interest in learning capacity planning, system monitoring, and cloud-based administration.
  • Experience supporting documentation of system configurations and troubleshooting steps.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $96.11 - $106.79 per hour
