They are looking to add a Cassandra Database Engineer to their team in Austin, TX.

***MUST HAVES:

  • 8+ years of Apache Cassandra database experience
  • Minimum HS Diploma

Role & responsibilities:

  • Develop and document database architectures, schemas, and physical structures that align with business requirements and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to ensure database integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance database performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime in case of system failures or data loss.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems, faults, and issues to ensure smooth and uninterrupted database operations.
  • Plan, install, configure, optimize, and upgrade database management system software to enhance performance and keep the database environment up to date.
  • Manage database replication and distribution processes to ensure data consistency and availability across multiple environments.
  • Performs capacity planning of server environments and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth.
  • Provide technical support offering guidance and expertise on database-related matters.

Candidate requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Cassandra database in multi-cloud environments like Azure, and AWS in enterprise settings.
  • SQL development (T-SQL) skills are strongly desired
  • Strong track record of evaluating database performance, isolating performance bottlenecks, and implementing database optimizations in transactional settings.
  • Database Architecture concepts with hands-on experience regarding high availability, load balancing, and distributed computing required.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
