JOB DESCRIPTION – IT & Database Specialist

Reports to: Chief Program & Impact Officer

Status: Non-exempt

Purpose: The IT & Database Specialist ensures that all Good Samaritan Services’ technology systems and platforms run smoothly and that staff have the tools they need to effectively carry out their work. This position will serve as the primary liaison with Flagstream Technologies, our IT vendor, and will develop a working knowledge of all platforms used across the organization, including Rock, Microsoft, Intulse, and various security systems.

The IT Support Specialist will troubleshoot issues, coordinate vendor support, improve
database quality, and proactively monitor systems to ensure continuity of operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as primary contact between Good Samaritan Services and Flagstream Technologies, coordinating service requests and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support and maintain organizational technology platforms, including Rock, Microsoft

365, Intulse phone system, and security systems.

  • Respond to staff requests for technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Train and support staff in the use of organizational systems to ensure effective

utilization.

  • Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, licenses, and system access. Develop and modify databases (programming development & coding)
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees regarding technology (accounts,

permissions, equipment, etc.).• Proactively monitor systems to minimize downtime and disruptions.

  • Work with the Operations Administrative Assistant to identify technology needs and

recommend improvements.

  • Support organizational initiatives related to technology, data security, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer

Science, or related field preferred.

  • At least 2 years of IT support experience, preferably in a non-profit or multi-site

environment.

  • Programming experience in coding projects
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and general IT systems administration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Based at Good Samaritan Services’ main office with occasional travel to other sites as
needed.

Position may require evening or weekend availability in case of emergencies.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
