Information Technology/Systems (IT/IS) Manager
Full-Time Permanent
Location: Fort Worth, TX (Onsite)
Buchanan Technologies is partnering with a rapidly growing aerospace-adjacent organization to identify a hands-on IT / IS Manager who will help transform the company’s technology environment from a small-company model into a scalable, enterprise-ready IT foundation.
This role is critical to supporting growth through organic expansion and acquisitions, while ensuring system reliability, security, and compliance within a regulated manufacturing ecosystem. This is not a people-management role. It is a leadership role centered on systems ownership, architecture, vendor management, and operational excellence.
The IT / IS Manager will serve as the primary owner and point of accountability for the IT environment, working closely with executive leadership, managed service providers, and business stakeholders.
Scope:
The ideal candidate will bring structure, standards, and planning to the IT environment while confidently managing vendors and service providers. Success is measured by system reliability, business alignment, and proactive execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and architecture across multiple locations
- Act as the primary interface and manager for MSPs, ISPs, data center providers, and technology vendors
- Lead and support major initiatives, including:
- Enterprise network redesign with role-based access (Cisco Meraki)
- ERP implementation and ongoing stewardship
- Office relocation and infrastructure readiness
- Ensure ERP systems remain aligned with business needs while minimizing customizations and preserving upgrade paths
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IT standards, policies, documentation, and operational processes
- Prepare the organization for increasing aerospace and DoD-aligned compliance and security requirements
- Clearly communicate outages, upgrades, maintenance windows, and project status to users and leadership
- Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, vendors, and licensing
- Evaluate and recommend technologies that support scalability, efficiency, and compliance
Technology Environment
- Microsoft-centric stack: Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365
- Cisco networking with Meraki
- Lenovo workstations
- ERP: (manufacturing / MRO focused)
- Outsourced data center (DFW area)
- MSP-supported desktops and servers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT / IS leadership or senior IT roles
- Strong background in infrastructure, networking, and vendor management
- Experience supporting or working alongside ERP systems in manufacturing, distribution, or MRO environment
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
- Exposure to DoD, CMMC, or similar compliance frameworks
- Experience supporting multi-site environments or acquisition-driven growth
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Solid business acumen with the ability to align technology to operational needs
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of IT security best practices and compliance-driven environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
