The Opportunity:
Support the DoD as a DSO Engineer to an Army Task Order that provides system administration, network administration, and database administration to support, maintain and operate an enclave of the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN).
Hybrid! 2 days onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD!
Responsibilities:
Support the DSO platform and established team with the design, deployment, and continued automation of Service updates
Maintain existing services while introducing new capabilities in a compliant environment
Minimize risk through modern architecture such as containerization and automated orchestrations
Work with highly virtualized infrastructure to enable software development in a DoD RMF approved network
Use problem-solving skills to work on Active Directory, Windows Servers, VMware vSphere, Red Hat Linux, and various Software Development support servers
Provide support to customers and team members to solve challenging IT problems
Qualifications:
Required:
An active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline (Advanced degree desired)
7 years' experience or 15 years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications (may substitute for degree)
IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+CE, SSCP)
Computing environment certification
Proficiency in Kubernetes container orchestration
Proficiency in IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and CaC (Configuration as Code)
Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and cross-platform applications
Excellent understanding of DevSecOps and Agile practices
Experience with project planning tools (e.g., Jira and Confluence)
Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with technologies: Ansible, Redhat, Ubuntu, Git
Desired:
Cloud-based Architectural Automations (Kubernetes Operators, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
Terraform experience
High availability proxy knowledge
Experience with build agent optimization
Active Directory (ADFS integration) and LDAP Integration
Containerization experience (Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
Reverse proxy and load balancing configuration
Single Sign-on Integration (SAML, OpenID)
Experience with Traefik, Portainer
Java development with Maven Builds
Administration of DSO tools (Atlassian suite, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Nexus, SonarQube, CodeDX, Fortify, Dependency Track, File Sender)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$99,300 - 208,600 USD
