Location: Morrisville, NC Salary: Negotiable Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer

• Cisco-Centric Networking (MOST IMPORTANT): Strong Cisco switching experience (Catalyst required). Cisco routers, access switches, building switch stacks. Ability to configure and monitor Cisco environments independently.
• Network Fundamentals: VLANs, trunking, routing basics. STP (Spanning Tree Protocol). Understanding of IP addressing / subnetting (IPv4). Ability to design/config small-scale monitoring setups.
• Firewalls & SD-WAN: Palo Alto firewall familiarity (not expert-level). Bonus: Silver Peak or SD-WAN experience (Palo Alto SD-WAN in future roadmap).
• IPAM: Experience with IP address management tools. Comfortable cleaning up outdated Excel-based inventories.
• Tools & Platforms: ServiceNow (ticketing). Cisco + Meraki + HP switches. Basic documentation (design docs, configuration records).
• Manufacturing or lab/MCN/MCF environment experience. Experience supporting partially air-gapped networks. Comfort working in highly process-driven organizations. Ability to research and validate network configurations.

Comfortable doing both small repetitive tasks AND project-based work. Strong communicator who can collaborate across sites. Someone who monitors, documents, and follows process.

This is not an architect role - they want a Smart, mid-level engineer who is: Hands-on, Reliable, Process-oriented, Easy to work with, Cisco-strong.

Ideal Candidate Summary for Recruiters: A mid-level Cisco-focused Network Engineer with strong switching experience (Catalyst & Meraki), basic firewall skills (Palo Alto), solid IPAM/IP addressing fundamentals, and ability to execute repeatable project tasks (stack builds, IOS upgrades, wiring, racking, configs, monitoring setup). Process-oriented, accountable, and comfortable doing end-to-end work including documentation and vendor coordination.
