Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, the IT Manager provides both strategic direction and hands-on leadership for all aspects of information technology across the organization. This includes oversight of the IT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, vendor management, and user support. The IT Manager ensures technology solutions align with the mission of the organization, support compliance and funding requirements, and enable efficient, cost-effective service delivery.

The position is full-time and exempt, with an annual starting salary of $79,054.60.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Advise leadership on technology trends, innovations and risks management.
  • Explore and propose cost-effective solutions to enhance administrative and program operations.
  • Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures, including data privacy, access control, risk mitigation, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, grantor, and other regulatory technology standards.
  • Manage data backup systems and disaster recovery plans.
  • Oversee all IT assets including hardware, software, networks, cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint), and telecommunications systems.
  • Ensure secure connectivity and data access across all office locations and for remote staff.
  • Monitor system performance and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Provide responsive, clear technical support to users of varying proficiency.
  • Manage user support requests and maintain a responsive, well-organized ticketing process.
  • Develop and deliver user-friendly training materials and documentation.
  • Lead IT projects such as system migrations, hardware upgrades, and software implementations.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration for IT initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and technology vendors.
  • Negotiate and oversee service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and value.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive IT experience, including at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Prolonged computer use; occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs.) for hardware setup.
Frequent travel to regional office or partner locations.
Ability to focus on complex tasks and maintain organization over time.
Strong verbal communication skills for training and user support.
Visual and auditory capacity for technical and interpersonal tasks.
