  • Innovation + Being a Student – We embrace learning, experimentation, and thoughtful problem-solving.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Shopify Web Developer to own the execution of high-quality Shopify builds and ongoing development tasks for our clients.

This role is best suited for a senior-level developer who is confident in translating designs into scalable, performant Shopify implementations, thrives in an agency environment, and takes full ownership of quality, performance, communication, and delivery with minimal oversight.

This role assumes comfort working within Git-based workflows, local development environments (Shopify CLI), and clearly defined staging and production processes.

You will collaborate closely with designers, SEO specialists, marketers, project managers, and account managers to deliver clean, maintainable, conversion-focused Shopify experiences.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Translating approved Figma designs into custom Shopify themes, sections, and templates using Liquid best practices
  • Building and customizing Shopify storefronts, including PDPs, collection pages, landing pages, and supporting templates
  • Developing reusable, maintainable Liquid sections and snippets
  • Implementing on-site SEO tasks as directed by the internal SEO team
  • Optimizing site performance, Core Web Vitals, and overall front-end efficiency
  • Updating and maintaining existing Shopify stores (themes, sections, apps, bug fixes)
  • Troubleshooting Shopify theme, app, and storefront issues
  • Conducting rigorous QA testing on your own work and peer work before staging and production releases
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to deploy site updates tied to campaigns and promotions
  • Providing clear task updates and technical context to Project Managers and Account Managers
  • Taking ownership of the technical success of assigned website projects and tasks

While the primary focus is Shopify, there may be occasional, limited support tasks involving landing pages on platforms such as WordPress or HubSpot.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Agency experience is required
  • 4–6+ years of professional Shopify development experience or equivalent senior-level agency experience owning Shopify builds end-to-end
  • Strong experience using Shopify CLI for local development, theme customization, and testing
  • Strong experience working with Git-based version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and structured deployment workflows
  • 4+ years of experience with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proven experience translating Figma designs into production-ready Shopify implementations
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, UI/UX principles, and conversion-focused development
  • Experience building custom Shopify themes, sections, templates, and Liquid snippets
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization and Shopify-specific best practices
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • High level of personal accountability, attention to detail, and ownership of work
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight while maintaining high quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with designers, SEO specialists, marketers, and project managers
  • Experience working within structured workflows using project management tools (platform-agnostic)

Location & Availability

  • Fully remote
  • Expected availability: 10–30 hours per week, Monday–Friday
  • Opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs

  • Is self-managed, reliable, and proactive
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Thrives in an agency environment with multiple stakeholders
  • If you care deeply about clean Shopify implementations, performance, and maintainable Liquid architecture, you’ll feel at home here.
