Description:
Spatial Front, inc. is seeking a hands-on Database Administrator to join our team supporting our federal client.
Summary of Major Job Functions:

Monitor clustered & replicated database systems health and configurations daily.

Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases in the operational, QA, and development environments as well as remediate problems/issues in a timely manner.

Perform day-to-day operational activities including troubleshoot, break/fix, and failovers.

Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Deploy clustered & replicated database systems within the operational, QA, and development environments.
-
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
-
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
-
Monitor backups and maintenance jobs.
-
Identify and tune badly performing queries.
-
Provide assistance with ad-hoc query development and data analysis.
-
Provide 24x7x365 on-call rotation for after-hours support.
-
Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work.
Requirements:
- BA/BS Degree with at least 6-8 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 4 years of additional experience is required.

6+ Years of IT experience, specifically in a DBA role
-
6+ years working with MongoDB in an enterprise environment

6+ years working with Sybase in an enterprise environment
-
Good team player with strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills

Able to work under pressure and multi-task

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Skills & Qualifications

Production experience with PostgreSQL & PostGIS

Production experience with MySQL/MariaDB
-
Production experience with MS SQL Server
-
Production experience with Redis
-
Current or previous government contract experience

Familiarity with the Ansible Platform and writing playbooks

Familiarity with VMWare using VMWare vCenter

Other Information

The salary for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 annually

This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs
