We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AWS SaaS Architect to design, lead, and optimize the technical foundation that powers our platform.

Role Overview

The Senior AWS SaaS Software Architect will serve as the principal technology leader responsible for optimizing, modernizing, and governing our AWS-hosted, multi-tenant EHR platform. This role combines hands-on development with strategic architectural guidance to evolve our current monolithic application and supporting microservices into a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native environment.

The architect will drive improvements in performance, security, compliance, and cost optimization while ensuring the platform consistently meets HIPAA/HITRUST standards. Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams, this leader will design and oversee a future-ready SaaS architecture that balances thoughtful incremental modernization with long-term scalability and resilience

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Evolve and optimize the end-to-end cloud architecture of the NEO SaaS platform, leveraging AWS-native and other services.
• Maintain and Optimize the Architecture of a multi-tenant SaaS model with strong data isolation, scalability, and resiliency.
• Lead design of microservices, serverless functions, event-driven architectures, and secure APIs.

Programming & Database Expertise

• Provide hands-on development leadership in C# for backend systems and services.
• Ensure seamless integration and performance optimization of PostgreSQL and DynamoDB databases within AWS.
• Help refine and modernize our coding standards, design patterns, and technical guardrails for scalable development.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, and other regulatory compliance requirements are fully embedded in the architecture.
• Implement best practices for data encryption, identity and access management (IAM), monitoring, and logging.
• Partner with compliance/legal teams to align technology decisions with healthcare regulations.

Scalability & Reliability

• Help with the improvements with the current design of our high-availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and help develop an active-active architectures across AWS regions.
• Implement observability frameworks (metrics, logging, tracing, alerts) to ensure uptime and SLAs.
• Guide performance testing, scaling strategies, and continuous optimization.

DevOps & Engineering Leadership

• Mentor development and DevOps teams on cloud-native best practices.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), automated testing, and secure deployments.
• Partner with engineering leads to ensure architecture is executed consistently.

Strategic Leadership

• Serve as the senior technology thought leader in cloud and SaaS architecture decisions.
• Evaluate emerging AWS services, tools, and third-party integrations to accelerate innovation.
• Collaborate with executives on long-term technology strategy, budgets, and road maps.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in software architecture, with at least 5+ years focused on AWS cloud-native SaaS solutions.
• Programming Expertise: Deep, hands-on coding experience with C# for backend development and PostgreSQL and DynamoDB for database design, optimization, and scaling.
• Healthcare Expertise: Knowledge of healthcare IT security frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2). EHR platform experience is strongly preferred.
• AWS Mastery: Advanced knowledge of services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Cognito, KMS, CloudWatch, IAM, WAF, GuardDuty, Control Tower.
• Multi-Tenant SaaS Expertise: Proven ability to design and scale SaaS solutions with tenant isolation, billing, and lifecycle management.
• Architecture Skills: Strong background in microservices, serverless, event-driven, and API-first architectures. Experience with containerized applications and service-oriented design
• Security First Mindset: Experience embedding compliance, encryption, and monitoring into cloud systems.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and influence executive stakeholders. Pragmatic approach to choosing the right architectural patterns for the problem
• Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, TOGAF, or equivalent.

⚡ This is a mission-critical role. The Senior AWS SaaS Architect will not only set the architectural foundation but also bring hands-on programming expertise in C# and PostgreSQL and DynamoDB (SQL & Non-SQL) to ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and future-ready.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
