The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Database Administrator to join our Data Management and Support section of IT (information technology). This position gives you the opportunity to work with databases of varied complexity, optimizing database configurations and ensuring secure access. Work involves resolving database performance and capacity issues as well as performing work on a variety of complex and challenging database projects. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the PUC's databases. This includes performing database backup and recovery exercises as well as creating, developing, and implementing databases. You will be involved in building data collection systems as well as exploring data analytics, machine learning, data mining, and other AI-based data resources. Additionally, you will create big data repositories, data warehouses, and data marts. Finally, you will implement other data solutions and create data strategies that will optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania that is within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg.
