Vibrac® was founded in 1960 and has been designing and manufacturing precision electromechanical torque test equipment for customers whose applications commonly require important torque performance data for improving quality, product reliability and engineering design. Located in Manchester, New Hampshire (USA), Vibrac® manufactures a broad range of automated and manual precision torque testing systems for accurately measuring torque of numerous types of rotational devices.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Software & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support control systems and software for advanced manufacturing equipment. This role plays a key part in automation, testing, and system integration. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and experienced in working within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain control software using NI LabVIEW
- Develop software for automated test systems, data acquisition, and process control
- Integrate software with hardware components including PLCs, sensors, actuators, motion systems, and instrumentation
- Support machine commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to define system requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, software standards, and version control
- Assist with system validation, testing, and performance optimization
- Provide on-site and remote support for manufacturing and production systems as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a software and controls engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong proficiency with LabVIEW
- Experience with data acquisition (DAQ), instrumentation, and test automation
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, TCP/IP, Serial, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Knowledge of motion control systems, robotics, or machine vision
- Experience with version control systems (Git or similar)
- Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments (aerospace, medical, defense, etc.)
- NI certifications (CLD, CLA) a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
