Job Description:
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for testing, calibration, and alignment processes for our laser, probe, and spectrometer products. Focus on creating robust software solutions and mechanical systems to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce manual interventions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software for test automation platforms using C# and Python
- Create custom plugins and extensions to enhance automation capabilities
- Develop mechanical fixtures and integration solutions for automated alignment of spectrometers
- Implement robotic systems and motorized stages for precise instrument positioning and adjustment
- Design and optimize database solutions for test data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and electrical engineering
- Analyze automation data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Document automation procedures, code, and system architectures
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in automation
Job Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python and C#
- Database design and management (SQL, NoSQL)
- Mechanical design principles and CAD software knowledge
- Experience with motion control systems and precision alignment techniques
- Data analysis and interpretation abilities
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Communication and collaboration abilities
- Basic electrical engineering knowledge
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in automation engineering or similar role
- Experience with optical or photonic systems preferred
- Knowledge of spectrometer technology (particularly Raman or NIR) preferred
- Familiarity with robotics programming and integration preferred
