The DevOps Engineer (Build & Release) will support both Information Systems (IS) and Industrial Vision and Automation (IVA) teams by administering build, release, and deployment processes. This position ensures code meets established standards, passes automated tests, and complies with security requirements before release. The role focuses on pipeline administration, security enforcement, and release reliability rather than feature development.

  • Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Software Development, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Docker required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in DevOps, Build/Release Engineering, Systems Administration or related experience required.

We are adding a DevOps Engineer to our growing team!

The DevOps Engineer (Build & Release) will support both Information Systems (IS) and Industrial Vision and Automation (IVA) teams by administering build, release, and deployment processes. This position ensures code meets established standards, passes automated tests, and complies with security requirements before release. The role focuses on pipeline administration, security enforcement, and release reliability rather than feature development.

  • Administers CI/CD pipelines to ensure code builds, tests, and deploys consistently.
  • Enforces coding standards, security protocols, and branch protection rules across repositories.
  • Monitors automated quality and security gates (unit testing, vulnerability scanning, secret scanning).
  • Maintains clean, reproducible build environments and containerized deployments.
  • Documents exceptions, approvals, and release decisions in accordance with established coding standards.
  • Tracks and resolves vulnerabilities in collaboration with development teams.
  • Supports release documentation, tagging, and versioning processes.
  • Collaborates with IS and IVA developers to align on secure coding practices and workflows.
  • Participates in annual security training.

What we are looking for:

  • Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Software Development, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Docker required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in DevOps, Build/Release Engineering, Systems Administration or related experience required.
  • Experience with deployment management tools such as Portainer/Ansible/Terraform preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Gitea) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience with secrets management such as HashiCorp Vault preferred.
  • Experience with source control tools (Git) and pull request workflows required.
  • Experience with observability tools and software (Grafana/Prometheus, Sentry/ELK) preferred.
  • Experience with secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10, secret management, parameterized SQL) preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry setting preferred.

Skills and abilities crucial to success in this role include:

  • Strong knowledge of version control, automation, and testing frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability management and dependency scanning tools.
  • Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Postgres) and scripting languages preferred.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming (Python, JavaScript, C++, etc).
  • Strong documentation and process discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks within deadlines.
