We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with strong AWS cloud expertise to join our client in the Banking industry.

Role Overview

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level data architecture strategies on the AWS cloud. You will collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and business teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions that align with business goals in the financial services domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture solutions leveraging AWS cloud technologies (Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Define and maintain data models, metadata, and architecture standards for banking/financial data systems.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI, SOX).
  • Develop scalable data pipelines and integration strategies using ETL/ELT best practices.
  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to optimize data accessibility and usability.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including data lake and data warehouse solutions in AWS.
  • Provide thought leadership in data strategy, architecture frameworks, and performance optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud data services (Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3, EMR, Lambda, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and data lake architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Spark for data design and transformation.
  • Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) and microservices-based data architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance in banking/financial services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and influence strategy.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and advanced analytics in AWS.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional collaboration.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $78.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
