Job description
Aleut Federal is hiring a SQL Database Administrator for the Air Force’s BlueSCI enterprise. The SQL Database Administrator must be highly motivated, organized, and highly skilled in administering SQL services for a 40K+ user enterprise. The position is in San Antonio, TX and will be a full-time on-site position.
Responsibilities:
- Administer database services for the AF BlueSCI enterprise to include all supported sites and systems. The current database utilized is Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Operate and check the day-to-day operation of fielded anti-virus databases. Perform system checks, backup, recovery, and load analysis.
- Create and rebuild replication scheme, troubleshoot systems with other operational functions and application developers.
- Design the build functions to control access to data, enforce data integrity, manage concurrency, and add, modify, and delete functionalities based on customer requirements for upgrading software and support tools as newer versions are released.
- Convert standard databases to the Enterprise-level databases.
- Update files, monitor network servers, internet, and intranet user support and update SOP.
- Manage the SQL servers; research and troubleshoot problems by reviewing logs, records, and network configurations; recommend solutions to identified problems to the Enterprise ISSM and PMO.
- Ensure data is backed up daily; log all IT and Enterprise problems and resolutions and provide results to the 690 ISS in the monthly status report.
- Ensure all software is properly licensed and notify the AF BlueSCI Enterprise Software License Manager of unlicensed software on the network.
- Identify all issues that may affect Enterprise operations to the COR and upon discovery.
Requirements:
- High School diploma with 9+ years’ experience in an IT field (accredited degree may count as experience)
- Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience as a SQL DB Admin with knowledge of the SQL process
- Background in supporting core services technologies for enterprise functions (MS services, backups, endpoint security, and similar technologies)
- Performing daily health checks and developing strategies for support to multiple technologies
- Must have DOD TS/SCI security clearance eligibility currently
- 3-5 years working government contracts
- Prior military or government service in an IT field is a plus
- Familiar with Ticketing system, ServiceNow preferred, Remedy acceptable
Preferred:
- Relevant MS Office 365 certification (such as Azure Data Fundamentals) or Legacy MSCA/MCSE
- Proven critical thinking and strategic problem-solving ability
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Highly skilled communicator, capable of independent and teamwork.

Salary range is 113K to 118K
