Jr. Full-Stack / Backend Developer

We are seeking a Full-Stack / Backend Junior Developer to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and expansion of a large-scale application. In this role, you will work on a variety of backend tasks, including database management, API integration, and writing clean, efficient code. If you have a deep understanding of PHP, MVC frameworks, and database management, along with experience in optimizing and maintaining APIs, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and expand the functionality of a large, existing web application.
- Develop and optimize PHP-based code, using MVC frameworks to build scalable and maintainable applications.
- Work extensively with MySQL/MariaDB or similar relational databases, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Integrate third-party APIs (including payment gateways and other services) into applications.
- Create and maintain APIs for use by other services or teams.
- Write and optimize code to handle medium to large datasets efficiently.
- Collaborate with front-end teams, leveraging a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Apply unit and integration testing principles to ensure code quality and stability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Administer Unix-based systems and services to support the application environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in PHP and experience with PHP MVC frameworks is required (Phalcon experience is a plus).
- Experience using Laravel in last two years (this is a requirement)
- Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL/MariaDB
- Proficiency in creating and integrating REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Node.js is a plus.
- Experience with unit and integration testing methodologies.
- Understanding and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
