Software Engineer II

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with extensive experience in automating workflows, managing microservices, and implementing robust security measures within cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GitHub, GitHub Actions, and cloud-native architectures, with a proven track record in repository migrations and CI/CD practices.

Role
Full Stack Development:

Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces.

Implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
DevOps Automation:

Utilize GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation, including testing and deployment workflows.
Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible to provision environments.
Integrate application monitoring and logging solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Authentication and Authorization:

Implement secure authentication mechanisms using OAuth, OIDC, and JWT.
Design and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and API security measures.

Microservices Architecture:

Develop and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Collaborate with teams to implement API Gateway solutions and microservices communication patterns.

Continuous Improvement:

Optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficiency and reliability, incorporating automated testing and security scans.

Cloud Experience:

Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using microservices architecture.
Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices, including IAM, VPC configurations, and data encryption.

All About You

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in Java and modern front-end frameworks.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure automation.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Skills

Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, OpenAPI).
Knowledge of GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security features, and repository management.
Familiarity with cloud-native services and best practices.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
