Position Overview

The Database Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s database systems to ensure reliability, security, and high performance. This role will oversee database installation, configuration, upgrades, and tuning while supporting cross-functional teams with data-related needs. The DBA will safeguard data integrity, ensure compliance with data security standards, and contribute to strategic technology initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server database management systems
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning measures
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution
• Design, implement, and maintain database architecture, tables, indexes, and stores procedures
• Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions in alignment with security policies • Ensure data security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested
• Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime
• Support development teams with database design, data migration, and query optimization
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and policies
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and organizational standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
• Proficiency with on-premises Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong skills in SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
• Knowledge of database security best practices and data privacy regulations

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequent use of a telephone for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
