Database Administrator (Student Information Systems)

Are you passionate about using data to support student success? Join our team as a Database Administrator, where your expertise will directly support educators, students, and families every day.

Working closely with the Director of Technology, you’ll play a key role in managing and optimizing the District’s data systems—ensuring accuracy, security, and seamless integration across platforms. This is more than a technical role—it’s an opportunity to shape how information empowers learning.

What You’ll Do

As our Database Administrator, you will:

  • Lead the administration, maintenance, and support of the PowerSchool Student Information System
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all district databases
  • Manage system updates, patches, user access, and reporting tools
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations with platforms like Clever, FinalSite, Mosyle, and more
  • Oversee state reporting processes (BOY, MOY, EOY)
  • Maintain development, test, and production environments
  • Coordinate database backups, recovery, and disaster planning
  • Serve as a key resource for staff—providing training, guidance, and technical support
  • Manage student enrollment systems and workflows for staff and families
  • Act as the primary contact for Mosyle MDM and iPad/app deployment
  • Support data privacy compliance (DPAs, RSA 189:66)
  • Collaborate on infrastructure planning and new technology initiatives

What You BringTechnical Expertise

  • Experience with database systems such as:
  • PowerSchool, SQL, Oracle, ODBC
  • FinalSite (Blackboard), Clever, SNAP, Follett Destiny
  • Mosyle, eTrition, Raptor, Pickup Patrol (or similar platforms)
  • Strong understanding of database administration, reporting, and system integrations

Professional Skills

  • Ability to work independently using a ticketing system
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication—able to support staff, students, and families
  • Collaborative mindset with a customer-service approach
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules when needed

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in database administration or similar role

Additional Details

  • Schedule: Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 40 hours/week, year-round
  • Status: Non-Exempt
  • Reports To: Director of Technology
