Summary
We are seeking a mid-level Geospatial Machine Learning Scientist to join our innovative team at Earth Systems, Inc. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis and machine learning to support our environmental consulting efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and geospatial applications, with the ability to develop and implement models that extract valuable insights from satellite imagery and other geospatial data sources. Your contributions will be vital in driving data-driven decisions that align with our mission of improving environmental quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement machine learning models for geospatial data analysis
· Process and analyze satellite imagery and other geospatial data sources.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geospatial insights into various projects.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in geospatial data science and machine learning.
· Prepare and present technical reports, research findings, and project updates to stakeholders.
· Participate in occasional travel to company offices for meetings and collaboration.
· Occasionally serve as a subject matter expert throughout the organization and to clients, providing guidance and expertise on geospatial machine learning applications.
Qualifications:
· Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geoscience, Remote Sensing, Data Science, or a related field.
· Experience with satellite imagery processing and analysis.
· 3-5 years of experience in machine learning and geospatial data analysis.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
· Experience with geospatial tools and libraries (e.g., GDAL, QGIS, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).
· Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for geospatial data processing.
· Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), foundation models, and transfer learning
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
· Willingness to travel occasionally to company offices.
· Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
