Job Description:

We’re seeking a self-sufficient and tech-savvy mid-level IT & Web Support Specialist to join our team. This role is part-time and focuses primarily on day-to-day IT support, website hosting maintenance, and systems troubleshooting, with a secondary emphasis on front-end website support and development.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in IT and website hosting, and is confident independently diagnosing and resolving common technical issues. They should be comfortable jumping into light development tasks and troubleshooting WordPress themes, plugins, and custom code with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support & Technical Troubleshooting

  • Resolve helpdesk requests related to hardware, software, VoIP systems, email, and basic network issues.
  • Monitor web server uptime, network performance (including UniFi networks), and respond to alerts or issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting WordPress hosting environments and DNS settings.
  • Manage Google Workspace accounts (creation, deletion, and modifications).
  • Support basic to mid-level IT emergencies, router issues, and VoIP system troubleshooting.
  • Clearly communicate task statuses, issues, and resolutions to internal teams and clients.

WordPress & Website Support

  • Provide light website support for WordPress websites, including plugin troubleshooting, layout fixes, and theme adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the development team to QA websites before and after launch.
  • Assist with website updates, form building (e.g., Gravity Forms), and styling tweaks using HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  • Participate in basic updates and maintenance tasks across platforms such as WordPress, Wix, HubSpot CMS, or Shopify.
  • Conduct backups, monitor for downtime, and support recovery efforts.

Cybersecurity & Maintenance

  • Assist in implementing basic to mid-level cybersecurity practices, including password management and user permissions.
  • Keep WordPress plugins, themes, and core files updated.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and escalate complex issues.
  • Document and help maintain IT-related SOPs and security workflows.

Documentation & Task Management

  • Track time and document work for IT support tickets and dev support tasks.
  • Create internal documentation for recurring processes and workflows.
  • Support website launches by following technical checklists and verifying performance.

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, systems maintenance, or web hosting environments.

Preferred

  • Experience with tools like WooCommerce, Divi, Elementor, Gravity Forms
  • Familiarity with UniFi network devices or VoIP systems
  • Background in QA or website testing and light development experience
  • Prior agency or remote team experience

Training Provided

We’ll provide training on our internal platforms (e.g., ClickUp), systems, and workflows. If you bring strong foundational skills and a desire to learn, we’ll help you grow from there.

Position Details

  • Part-time (approx. 20–30 hours/week) with the potential to grow into full-time based on performance and company needs.
  • Remote position with flexible scheduling within standard business hours (8:00am – 6:00pm PT).
  • Occasional after-hours support may be needed for urgent IT issues or scheduled website updates.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting WordPress websites.
  • Understanding of website hosting, DNS settings, and domain management.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace admin tools and common SaaS platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical team members and clients.
  • Ability to stay organized and juggle multiple tasks in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to collaborate, ask questions, and problem-solve both as a team and independently.
